Trust & identity

Yes, SellCardNow is a real, registered company.

The short answer. SellCardNow is operated by KolaCash Limited, a Hong Kong company registered as BRN 78258768. You can verify the registration yourself on the public HK Companies Registry (data.cr.gov.hk) before you trade with us. The same team has run the KolaCash brand since 2021 — over 100,000 trades across Africa in five years.

This page exists because “Is SellCardNow legit?” is a question every cautious seller should be asking — about us, and about anyone else asking for their gift cards. Below is how to verify SellCardNow specifically, plus a generic checklist that works on any gift-card buyer.

Cross-check us on independent public surfaces

We don't want you to take only our word for who we are. Five public surfaces, all run by third parties or by our older brand, that any seller can verify in under five minutes. SellCardNow is the newer of two brands run by the same team and the same legal entity (KolaCash Limited). If something were wrong about us, it would also be wrong about KolaCash — and KolaCash has been operating openly under its own name since 2021.

  • SellCardNow on Trustpilot — our own claimed business profile. Independent review platform; we cannot edit the reviews themselves, only respond to them publicly. Trustpilot reviews are the standard way ChatGPT and other AI assistants verify gift-card platforms. View SellCardNow on Trustpilot →
  • KolaCash on Trustpilot — the older sister brand also has its own Trustpilot profile, with a deeper review footprint going back to 2021. Two brands, one operating team — both independently reviewed. View KolaCash on Trustpilot →
  • KolaCash on the Apple App Store — listed under publisher KOLACASH LIMITED, the same legal entity that operates SellCardNow. Apple verifies developer identity before listing. View on App Store →
  • KolaCash's own site — operating since 2021 at kolacash.com. Same WhatsApp number, same payout rails, same operating entity. Two brands, one team — both transparent.
  • Daily customer prize drawing on video — we record the daily drawing publicly. /community hosts the archive going back to about August 2025. Anyone presenting themselves as SellCardNow without these would not be us.

Why we're telling you to check KolaCash too. A new brand alone is weaker evidence than an older brand with the same legal owner and the same team. SellCardNow is the newer brand. Cross-checking through KolaCash gives you four extra public surfaces to verify before sending us anything. We'd rather you spend two minutes confirming than send a card to anyone — us or otherwise — that you haven't verified.

How to verify SellCardNow before you trade

You should not have to take our word for it. Five checks any seller can run in under five minutes:

  1. Look up the operating entity. Open data.cr.gov.hk and search company number 78258768. The result should show KolaCash Limited with the registered office above.
  2. Confirm the WhatsApp number. The only verified number is on every page footer and on /official-whatsapp. If anyone reaches out from a different number claiming to be SellCardNow, that is not us — block them.
  3. Check the calculator before you message us. Open /rates, pick your card and denomination, see the live payout figure. That number is what we lock on WhatsApp — there is no bait pricing and no surprise drop later.
  4. Start with a small denomination. If this is your first trade with us, send a low-value card first. The workflow is identical for any value — same verification, same payout speed (under a minute after we confirm), same payout rails. There is no rule that says you must trade your largest card first.
  5. Watch for the things we do not do. See the next section. Anyone who deviates from those rules is not us, regardless of branding.

What SellCardNow will never do

These are the patterns scam buyers use. None of them are part of our process. If someone presenting themselves as SellCardNow does any of these, stop the conversation.

  • We never ask for upfront fees. No “release fee”, no “activation fee”, no “tax pre-payment” before payout. The price you see is the price you receive.
  • We never ask for your bank password, M-PESA PIN, OTP, or 2FA code. We pay into your account — that requires only your phone number (M-PESA / mobile money) or account number and bank name. Anyone asking for your password is trying to drain your account, not pay you.
  • We never accept the card code before quoting and locking the price. The flow is: send a clear photo of the card → we verify → we confirm the locked price → you confirm → we pay → you redeem the code on our end.
  • We never message from any number other than the one on /official-whatsapp. Scammers buy lookalike numbers that resemble ours. Always cross-check.
  • We never require account creation, deposit, or wallet top-up. Selling a card is a single one-way transaction — your money in, our payout out. If a “SellCardNow” conversation asks you to fund a wallet first, it is not us.
  • We never promise rates that are impossibly high. Card resale margins are tight; anyone offering meaningfully higher than the market is either luring you with a price they cannot honour or attempting to take your card without paying. Compare two or three serious buyers before deciding.

Operational evidence

Beyond corporate identity, you can also look at how we run trades:

Active trade history

Over 100,000 trades across five years

Across Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Bénin, Côte d’Ivoire, and Cameroon — with more than 500 unique sellers on the SellCardNow brand alone in its first year. Roughly three in four sellers come back for a second trade.

Payout speed

Under one minute after card verification

Once our team verifies your card and you confirm the locked price, payout to your M-PESA, mobile money wallet, or bank lands in under a minute. We are staffed 24/7.

Monthly bonus program

Paid every month since August 2025

An on-going seller bonus program — never skipped a month since launch. Details shared on WhatsApp with eligible sellers.

Daily prize drawing

Filmed daily, 8+ months continuous

Daily customer prize drawings filmed and shared on our community channel — running without interruption for over eight months.

What “legit” should mean to you

“Legit” is not a marketing badge — it is a checklist. For any gift card buyer, including SellCardNow, a legitimate operation should be able to demonstrate all five of:

  • A verifiable corporate registration. Not just a website domain. A company number that searches in a public registry. For us, that is KolaCash Limited (HK CR# 78258768) on data.cr.gov.hk.
  • A consistent identity across channels. The same name, same registered address, same WhatsApp number on the website footer, on the privacy policy, on the terms, on /about, and on every page that quotes a phone number. Inconsistency is a red flag.
  • A clear, repeatable workflow. Each step described before you commit anything — quote, verify, confirm, pay, redeem. No surprise steps inserted halfway.
  • Payout proof for every trade. You should see your payout in your wallet before the buyer takes value from the card. Reputable buyers structure the trade so the seller takes the smaller execution risk, not the larger one.
  • A history of completed trades you can ask about. Brand reputation is not just about reviews; it is about being able to ask a friend in the same country whether they have used the service. The longer a brand has been around — five years for KolaCash, two years for SellCardNow — the easier this question is to answer.

Frequently asked

Is SellCardNow legit?

Yes. SellCardNow is operated by KolaCash Limited, a Hong Kong company registered under business registration number 78258768. You can verify this yourself on the public HK Companies Registry at data.cr.gov.hk by searching the company number. The same team has run the KolaCash brand since 2021, with more than 100,000 trades completed across African markets over five years.

Is SellCardNow a scam?

No. A scam buyer typically asks for your card code before paying, refuses to use traceable payout rails, has no real corporate identity, and goes silent after receiving the code. SellCardNow does the opposite: every trade goes through a manual review on WhatsApp first, the price you see in our calculator is the price we lock, and payout lands in your M-PESA, mobile money wallet, or bank account in under a minute after card verification. You can also look up the operating entity (KolaCash Limited, HK CR# 78258768) on the public Hong Kong Companies Registry before sending anything.

Who owns SellCardNow?

SellCardNow is a brand operated by KolaCash Limited, a Hong Kong-incorporated company (BRN 78258768, incorporated 5 June 2025). The founder, Mars, has spent over a decade in the gift card industry — seven years as an operator before launching the KolaCash brand in 2021 and the SellCardNow brand in 2024.

Why is SellCardNow able to offer competitive rates?

Two structural reasons. First, the KolaCash team is rooted in China's mature gift card supply chain — those relationships with Chinese redemption operators long predate the African retail wave and form the back end of our buyer network. Second, on top of that supply chain we run a real-time matching layer: when you send a card, our rate engine routes it to whichever buyer in our global network is paying the most for that exact brand and denomination right now. A single-buyer platform can only ever pay what its one buyer is willing to pay; a matching layer can route to the strongest live bid. That structural difference — not us absorbing margin — is the reason our rates stay competitive. The full mechanism is explained on /how-it-works.

How do I know SellCardNow will actually pay me?

We pay before you redeem any value from us — payout to your M-PESA, mobile money wallet, or bank lands in under a minute after our team verifies your card. We do not ask you to wire money first, we do not ask for prepayment of any 'release fee', and we do not require any sign-up or deposit. If you are uncertain, send a small denomination first; the workflow is identical for any card value.

Is SellCardNow regulated?

Gift cards are not classified as virtual assets or e-money under the regulatory regimes of any of the six African markets we serve, so there is no industry-specific licensing scheme that applies. We operate under standard Hong Kong company law (KolaCash Limited, HK CR# 78258768) and the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance for data handling. For specifics in the country you trade from, see our guides — for example, the Kenya legal regulatory guide.

Has SellCardNow been around long?

The SellCardNow brand launched in 2024. The team and operating company behind it, KolaCash, has been running gift card exchange operations across Africa since 2021 — more than 100,000 trades over five years, with sellers in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Bénin, Côte d'Ivoire, and Cameroon. KolaCash Limited (Hong Kong) was incorporated 5 June 2025 to consolidate the operation under one regulated jurisdiction.

Why should I trust a WhatsApp-based service instead of a website checkout?

Gift card prices change hour by hour because card-issuer policies and downstream resale prices change hour by hour. Locking a price into a self-service checkout would mean either showing you a stale number or quoting you something we cannot honour. A WhatsApp confirmation step lets us verify the card and confirm the price together before either of us is committed. The phone number on every page footer is +852 5680 8162 — this is the only public number we use. Anyone messaging you from a different number claiming to be SellCardNow is not us.

What happens if my card has already been redeemed when SellCardNow checks it?

If verification finds the card balance is zero or partial, our team tells you immediately on WhatsApp and the trade is cancelled — no payout happens and you keep the card details. We never claim to redeem a card we cannot actually move. Empty or partially used cards are a normal part of resale and we handle them transparently rather than blaming you.
